FISHER’S PHILOSOPHIES 11/16

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

National security is the first duty of government but we are also committed to reversing the substantial erosion of civil liberties.
— Theresa May

RULE OF THE DAY:

There is NO 100%.  There are NO sure things.  All you will ever be able to do is quantify a percentage number of possible success and or inevitable failure.  But even failure is a success if the percentage number you picked and gave to the client was within 5 percentage points.  The difference between the private sector and government though is the fact that the private sector is held to the number, where the government can be 100% wrong (remember nothing is 100% but the government) and still get paid, promoted and rewarded.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

There are those held to high esteem in this country that have been and will continue to be complete and utter failures.  They held great promise in the beginning, but, as was Humpty-Dumpty, they are broken and will never be put back together again.  Once you lie, deceive, cheat, you have given up that which is the most precious of all things but life itself and that is one’s honor.  It is up to the American people to hold these dishonorable people to their word, or cast them aside for more honorable men.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

2010  –  President Barack Obama presented the Medal of Honor to Army Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta, the first living service member from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars to receive the nation’s top military award.
