FISHER’S PHILOSOPHIES 1/21

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“If you hold these Olympics, we will give you a present for the innocent Muslim blood being spilled all around the world: in Afghanistan, in Somalia, in Syria,” they say. “For the tourists who come, there will be a present, too.”
A couple of “clowns” threatening the Sochi games (names unknown)

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
Having the winter Olympics in Sochi with the issues that are showing themselves regarding security is taking a huge chance.  There are so many ways that this situation can go sideways there is no way the Russian security forces can stop al of the stupidity.  Sochi is a remote area, meaning it requires a lot of travel in many ways through very remote areas.  Once there, the spectators will have to travel again to remote venue areas, eat, and stay in hotels and other in remote areas.  Over a two-week period, time and location will make the Games a tremendous security risk.  Understand also, that if something goes wrong getting out of such a remote area becomes exponentially more difficult.  The chaos from a security breach could add more danger and open the door for other breaches.  Take into account also that Russia will not allow personal bodyguards, in reality, into the games, whether armed or in name and their will be chaos.  I could go on, but I would suggest to a client finding something else to do for these two weeks rather than go to Sochi.  Buy a big screen TV and order takeout.
