THOUGHTS OF THE DAY 5/22

BATTLE STRATEGY HISTORY OF THE DAY:

STALINGRAD, 1942-43

Stalingrad changed the face of World War II.  In a cataclysmic struggle, the Wehrmacht experienced its first army-sized defeat and the strategic advantage on the Eastern Front began to shift to the Red Army.

TIME UNTIL NEXT POTUS ELECTION:

900 Days, 16 Hours, 15 Minutes, 45 Seconds

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Ideas are more powerful than guns.  We would not let our enemies have guns, why would we let them have ideas.”

Joseph Stalin

Joey had a way with words that is for sure.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

POTUS is not treating the VA scandal with any urgency, because he obviously does not care.  He left SHINSEKI in the lead job to continue the negligent job he was doing before.  I understand that the VA problems are huge, but if you can’t do the job, or at least get it going in a good direction, then GET OUT!  Shinseki whined like a little girl, he was more interested in showing how mad he was that anyone would point a finger at him.  I will let you in on a little secret here Secretary, NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FEELINGS!  People, soldiers, veterans are dying because of YOUR lack of ability.  Get mad at that.  POTUS wants to throw more money at the problem with MORE COMPUTERS, but that is not what this problem needs.  The problem needs a viable plan.  Computers are not going to save the day.  There will be NO computer moment that everything works correctly.  Shinseki has to go!  POTUS needs to do his job.

RULE OF THE DAY:

KNOW POSITIVE ENERGY, KNOW NEGATIVE ENERGY

To make this simple, every person or thing you come in contact with contributes to well-being and success or takes away from it.  In the Bodyguard business this will include things that are a danger and things that are not.  Add in the “Butterfly Effect” and the Agent must look at present and future consequence of every person, action and thing that surrounds a protectee or client.

“An intelligent person can rationalize anything, a wise person doesn’t try.”

― Jen Knox

No thing is too big and no thing is too small to see, acknowledge, experience and or feel.

“Rather than arriving five hours late and flustered, it would be better all around if he were to arrive five hours and a few extra minutes late, but triumphantly in command.”

― Douglas Adams, The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul

A lesson can be learned from compartmentalization, separating things into many boxes apart from other things.  Many decisions and actions will be dealt with in a 24-hour time period; the Agent will be greatly benefitted by not mixing them all together.  Per example, being angry, but controlled, over another Agent’s poor action, and then letting your anger with that bleed into speaking to a Maitre de at a restaurant that has nothing to do with the original problem.  Not only will the Agent need to not speak in an obvious aggressive tone, but he/she must hide their facial and body language as to the negativity.  Is it hard, yes, is it impossible, no.  It is learned from practice, practice, practice.

“Every criticism, judgment, diagnosis, and expression of anger is the tragic expression of an unmet need.”

― Marshall B. Rosenberg From the book, I PROFESSIONAL, THE TOP 100 RULES FOR THE ONE PERCENTILE BODYGUARD BUSINESS, by Emiel Fisher, PI, PPS
