TIME UNTIL NEXT POTUS ELECTION:

894 Days, 15 Hours, 23 Minutes, 45 Seconds

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep, I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.”

— Alexander the Great

I think we know what we got, and what Russia got.  We got the lamb leading the lions, and Russia got the lion leading the lambs.  Maybe POTUS should have been a History major and he could have read about how to act, respond, lead people, men, armies, Congress.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

–SNOWDEN: “[I]t’s no secret that the U.S. tends to get more and better intelligence out of computers nowadays than they do out of people. I was trained as a spy in sort of the traditional sense of the word in that I lived and worked undercover overseas — pretending to work in a job that I’m not, and even being assigned a name that was not mine. … I’ve worked for the Central Intelligence Agency undercover overseas, I’ve worked for the National Security Agency undercover overseas … So when they say I’m a low-level systems administrator, … it’s somewhat misleading.”

RULE OF THE DAY:

KNOW KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID (K.I.S.S.)

K.I.S.S., which for the uninitiated mean KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.  This is what the Agent refers to as the common thread running through every decision you make in the protection business.  It is not rocket science it is pure redundancy.

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent.  It takes a touch of genius-and a lot of courage-to move in the opposite direction.”  E.F. Schumacher

Learn how to shorten everything you do, from walking to the bathroom in the morning, to writing a fifty-page report.  Everything can be shortened, reworded, and resubmitted.

“All things being equal, the simplest answers are usually the best.” Ockham’s Razor, William of Ockham

I use a lot of metaphors, and sayings, the reason being they shorten what could take paragraphs to explain into one sentence.  The beauty is abstraction; remember abstract for this is one of the thinking processes you will use in protection and Keep It Simple Stupid.
