THOUGHTS OF THE DAY 5/30

BATTLE STRATEGY HISTORY OF THE DAY:

HASTINGS, 1066

NORMAN MOUNTED MEN-AT-ARMS MET THE ANGLO-SAXON SHIELD WALL IN THE LONGEST, HARDEST-FOUGHT, AND MOST DECISIVE BATTLE IN ENGLAND IN THE EARLY MIDDLE AGES.  WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR’S VICTORY CHANGED ENGLISH HISTORY FOREVER, AND USHERED IN THE DOMINANCE OF THE MOUNTED KNIGHT THROUGHOUT EUROPEAN WARFARE.

From the Book, 100 Battles, Decisive Conflicts that shaped the World, by Martin Dougherty

TIME UNTIL NEXT POTUS ELECTION:

892 Days, 12 Hours, 30 Minutes, 17 Seconds

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

If you had to choose one person from the list below to help you which one would you choose?  The person has to be smart, crafty, trustworthy, and honorable.

  1. James Clapper, DNI
  2. John Brennan, CIA
  3. Edward Snowden, Patriot
  4. Eric Holder, Attorney General

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“May God keep you away from the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger, and the revenge of the Afghans.”

-Alexander the Great

No words spoken have been stated better.  Another example of how history repeats itself,…tragically!

VIDEO OF THE DAY:

Not a bad video on five striking techniques.  The production quality is not that good, but the guy gets his points across.  Spend the four minutes and watch.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

Shinseki has to go!  He has shown himself to be incompetent in the job he has been given.  People talk about what a great soldier he was in days gone by, but that is exactly what it is, DAYS GONE BY!  Because he was a great soldier years ago does not make him qualified for the job he has shown he cannot do, and or handle.  The managers below him, the system he OK’ed has been corrupted beyond belief, the people he was charged to serve he has betrayed to the point of people dying.  I don’t know, I would say he has failed miserably.  Not only that, crimes WERE committed, fraud was committed in the name of greed and cover up.  People collecting bonuses based on numbers they knew were false and fraudulent is a CRIME.  Shinseki stands there and points his fingers at his accusers and whines about what he believes he has done.  YOU HAVE FAILED MY MAN!  That is the truth of it.  Resign, walk away, believe that YOU failed the American soldiers.  Accept fault, YOU were in charge.

Also, the State Department spokeswoman claiming that POTUS doesn’t take enough credit for everything he has done diplomatically.  The press corp broke out laughing and the then the girl got flustered by her guffaw.  POTUS and John Kerry add up to a TOTAL JOKE diplomatically.  The failures are monumental, the successes non-existent.  POTUS believes that just talking about a situation in the world is the cure to it.  Juan Williams, another Obinion, sounds SO foolish justifying POTUS’ diplomacy policy.  No one talks about Kerry because all he does is bloviate, and look foolish and incompetent doing it.  He should get the American Soldier, ANDREW TAHMOORESSI, out of the Mexican Hell hole prison he has been in for some time.  Talk about a gimme.  Kerry should start here with something simple.  The Mexican Government has nothing to say on this.  We are taking thousands of ILLEGALS in our country every month, and they want to hold one of our soldiers on some trumped up charge.  Kerry, YOU SUCK at your job also.  There I said it.  All of the money and intelligence in the world can’t help a man who is incompetent in the job he is given.  If anything happens to that boy while he is being held in that crap hole YOU will be held accountable.  DO YOUR JOB!  OR better yet, you and Shinseki join forces on a six month retirement cruise and do the American people a favor.

RULE OF THE DAY:

KNOW HONESTY / INTEGRITY / ETHICS

Don’t equivocate, don’t lie, don’t try to play games with words, you will lose, and you will look like a fool on top of it.  Most of the people in the protection business have been x-police, x-FBI, x-Secret Service, x-everything that brought them in contact with people who lie, cheat, steal, and play with the truth.  They will know before you say anything whether it is the truth or not, or if the truth is being played with.  This is a very serendipitous business, meaning, you might get away with it this second, but tomorrow there will be something else you are working on and your lie might be revealed. The main point is don’t do it, you will know when it is coming up, you will know because there will be a “moment of truth” time where the lie will be told, or not told, be smart in a positive way.

“The Paradoxical Commandments

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.

Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.

Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.

Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.

Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.

Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.

Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.

Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.

Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.

Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.

Give the world the best you have anyway.”

― Kent M. Keith, The Silent Revolution: Dynamic Leadership in the Student Council

Credibility is everything.  If the Detail Leader or other Agents don’t trust you and can’t respect you your days are numbered.  Remember KISS.  Telling the truth is simple once practiced.  Practice it 100% of the time.  Look at me when I am talking to you, 100% of the time!

“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters”

— Albert Einstein
